Franklin Rodeo (2027 dates TBA)
Often called the unofficial kickoff to summer in Williamson County, the Franklin Rodeo brings three nights of bull riding, barrel racing, and rodeo clowns to the Williamson County Ag Expo Park. It’s typically held in mid-May – the 2026 rodeo ran May 14-16 – with tickets going on sale in March.
Full Moon Pickin’ Party (May–October, monthly)
This Leiper’s Fork institution happens on or near the full moon at Fox Hollow Farm from May through October, with bluegrass, barbecue, and hay-bale seating under the stars. It’s one of the most quintessentially “Leiper’s Fork” things you can do all summer – check the current schedule for exact dates before you visit, since they shift with the moon.
Franklin on the Fourth (July 4)
Franklin’s Independence Day celebration kicks off at 10am on the square with music, food and craft vendors, and a kids’ zone, followed by a Children’s Patriotic Parade at 5pm. The party moves to The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in the evening for live music, old-fashioned games, and fireworks around 9pm.
Williamson County Fair (2027 dates TBA)
A nine-day county fair tradition with rides, livestock competitions, fair food, and nightly entertainment. The 2026 fair ran August 6-14; 2027 dates are typically announced in the spring.
Franklin Farmers Market
Open Saturdays year-round at The Factory at Franklin, the market hits its stride in summer with peak-season Tennessee produce, flowers, and prepared foods from local vendors.
Cool Off on the Harpeth River
Canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on the Harpeth River are classic ways to beat the Tennessee heat. Several outfitters near Leiper’s Fork and Franklin rent equipment and run shuttles for half-day float trips.
