Visit Leiper’s Fork in Fall: Key Events & Dates

Growing up in Florida, we didn’t get much in the way of seasons so getting to experience a true fall season is one of the many things to love about visiting Leiper’s Fork in autumn. Seeing the colorful fall leaves change, football games, experiencing all things pumpkin… It’s just a dream! Be sure to add some (or all) of these things to your itinerary if you’re visiting in the fall.

Holiday Weekends in Fall: 

  • Labor Day Weekend (Sept 2-5)
  • Thanksgiving Day for our Canadian guests (Oct 9)
  • Columbus Day (Oct 9)
  • Veteran’s Day Weekend (Nov 11-13)
  • Thanksgiving Day / Weekend (Nov 24-27)

Leiper’s Fork, Franklin & Nashville Fall Events: 

  • ForkFest in Leiper’s Fork (Sept 17)
    • A free, bring your lawn chair live music event. 
  • Farmstead Roots Creek Dinner Series at Wines in the Fork (Sept 23, Oct 6, Oct 7)
    • Creek dining with a multi-course meal prepared with wine. Live music, cocktails, and local artisan demonstrations.
  • Cheekwood Harvest (Sept 16 thru Oct 29):
    • Check out their annual display filled with pumpkins throughout their gardens. There’s a Pumpkin Village, scarecrow trail and beer garden running from September 16 to October 29.
  • AMERICANA FEST (Sept 19-23, various locations):
    • Celebrate American music and culture, taking place from September 19th to 23rd at various iconic Nashville venues.
  • Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival (Sept 23 and 24, Franklin):*
    • Head to nearby Franklin, TN to be part of the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, a two-day event celebrating music and the arts.
  • Tennessee Titans Football (Sept – Jan, Nissan Stadium in Nashville)
    • Catch the Tennessee Titans in action at Nissan Stadium throughout the fall season. Join the enthusiastic fans and experience the thrill of NFL football.
  • Predators Hockey (Oct– April, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville):
    • Get ready for some intense NHL action with the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena throughout the fall and winter.
  • PumpkinFest, Downtown Franklin (October 28): 
    • A day to enjoy the festive season of Fall with food and drinks, live music, activities for children, arts and crafts and costume contests for both pets and families.
  • Christmas at Gaylord Opryland (Nov 10 – Jan 1):
    • Get into the holiday spirit with Christmas at Gaylord Opryland, a magical experience from November 10th to January 1st.
  • Cheekwood Holiday Lights (mid- Nov- Jan):
    • Don’t miss the dazzling Cheekwood Holiday Lights display from mid-November through January.

More Fun in Fall: 

Don’t sweat it if you can’t make it here during one of the festivals (or if they’re already sold out). There’s still plenty of things to do that aren’t date specific. 

Walk, Hike or Bike: The mild fall weather is a great season to go walking, hiking or biking and soak in the views of colorful fall foliage. Some of the best views are: 

  • Natchez Trace State Park 
  • Timberland Park 
  • Owl’s Hill Sanctuary
