Fall is in the Air: October in Nashville

NASHVILLE OCTOBER BLOG

“Never a dull night in Nashville”

October is one of the best months to visit Music City. We have events for everyone  ranging from Oktoberfest beer tents and dachshund derbies to country stars singing at the symphony and the highly anticipated Nashville Halloween weekend! Our city is one of the top frequented destinations for family vacations, romantic getaways & bachelor/bachelorette parties, which means there is never a dull night in Nashville. We want you to experience it like a local, so check out these fun events you won’t want to miss out on and plan your trip today!

Have you ever rocked out to Tricia Yearwood’s hits, “She’s In Love With The Boy”, “Walk Away Joe” or “How Do I Live”? This October, you have an opportunity to hear these songs live and like they’ve never been heard before, at the Nashville Symphony. That’s right, for 3 nights (OCT 3,4 & 5) you can live out every 90’s country fangirl’s dream in the beautiful Schermerhorn building where the acoustics are incredible and the musicians are even better. If 90’s country isn’t your thing, but you still want to check out the Symphony Center – ‘Halloween at Hogwarts’ will be on at 11AM on the 5th and you’re invited to come in costume, it will be fun for the whole family!

One of the best parts about October is the beer, right? Nashville’s own Oktoberfest is being held in Germantown on October 10-13 where there is a full list of fun (and beer) for everyone. This 40th annual celebration spans across 10 city blocks and is said to attract over a quarter of a million people each year! We encourage you to show up early and stay late because it’s nearly impossible to run out of things to do. There will be a Dachshund derby which is fun to watch even if you don’t have a Dachshund, a 5K, a pup parade, live German music, arts & crafts and a bratwurst eating contest (and that’s just to name a few). So strap up your lederhosen, slip into those clogs and celebrate Oktoberfest in Nashville!

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Nashville LOVES music. When you visit our city, you have choices to make; and in October, those choices are endless. Maren Morris is playing The Ascend Amphitheater, Houndmouth is playing at Mercy Lounge, Jason Isbell is at The Ryman and Amanda Fish is at the basement, all on October 18th. On the 25th, Kacey Musgraves is at Bridgestone Arena, Lauren Alaina is at Exit/In, Jason Isbell is at The Ryman again and Kishi Bashi is at The Cannery. We would love to tell you which show is going to be the best, but the truth is that they’re all going to be amazing. You can’t go to every show, but we promise every show will be worth going to.

This Halloween, Music City is holding it’s very own Halloween Ball! This bewitching party is on Saturday, October 26 at one of Nashville’s premier venues, Marathon Music Works. It is hyped up to be one of Nashville’s creepiest and most spellbinding events, with aerial acrobatics, costume contests, live music and a variety of the nations top performers adding to the evenings charm. So if you’re wanting to dance the night away or dress up and eat goblin shaped cookies, you will have a “spook-tacular” time either way!
